Bleh, Chapter Seven!

Okay, so I would like to say that I am not thrilled about going to work today. No. ANNNND any other day I would enjoy the snow like crazy BUT it has proven to be a hazard more than ever this year. (hint: that doesn't make me happy.) Le sigh. ANY WHOZZLE~

How is everyone enjoying the story so far? Good? Bad? Boring...? :( I hope not. I would like to know you're take on the story thus far. You know, so my performance can enhance...? Right. Well, perhaps this story does not "rest" with you if you're in to other genres of stories (which I have, fortunately) However, I won't start another until I hear some feed back from this one.

By the way, I was so excited to see that we have Life cereal now. (One of my favs!) <3

Mkay! Chapter 7!!!!!

Chapter 7: Cassius

"I am called Cassius. Take a moment to observe my mustache..."

Shensé gently shrunk inside himself as this mysterious being spoke to him. It was creepy enough to listen, so why take the chance and continue to stare at what Shensé claimed to be death personified?

"C-cassius? What a different name."

"Compared to yours? I had surely hoped that you would redeem yourself with courage to take the focus off such an unmanly name."

This upset Shensé. And it managed to take his mind off of the fear for that moment.

"Excuse me?"

"Your actions throughout have been proven utterly distasteful and full of irrationality."

"What does that have to do with my name, sir?"

"...Everything."

Cassius took another step toward him, reminding Shensé of the fear once more. His boot sounded heavy...and painful, Shensé thought.

"You must be able to demonstrate what you are, leaving a good impression upon others that they may remember such a hero's name..."

"Hero?"

".....yes, hero. But with what I have observed..." Cassius moved his eyes as if possessed...although it was all Shensé could focus on in the dark of the night. His silhouette even had an "expressive" gesture to it.

"I am beginning to wonder if you really are the hero..." he finished.

"Eh?"

Cassius sighed turning his body to the moon. The light licked his cheek, but to Shensé nothing could be seen. How enigmatic. Standing in front of Shensé speaking, moving...and yet nothing seen before light.

"You are not ready then. That is my other conclusion..."

"...I...I don't understand. Not prepared for what? Tell me! I wish not to this game of guessing--"

"A game?? Do you HONESTLY think this a game? Release me and you will know!!"

Shensé cowered inside, but was still gazing at the majestic mustache upon what was his face. Cassius dispersed quickly back into Shensé's shadow, leaving the echo of his thunderous voice. Not soon after was Ganadella storming from out of her quarters and climbing up the ladder to the deck. She held a lantern within her left hand, resting the other hand on her hip.

"Shouting for help are we?"

Her accent was even profound. Shensé was beginning to question everything at this point. Could Ganadella really be a pirate from a cursed land? She surely did not sound royal and prestigious anymore.

"Don't think for an instant that I'm letting you free! Can't have you jumping over board, eh?" she laughed.

"Why were you making a fuss anyway? Speak up!"

Shensé considered telling the truth. She might slap him "for lying and such" before considering what he would say. He only stared at her between the moon's light and its shadow.

"Well??"

"...I am falling ill and hungry."

"Psh! And?" she continued to laugh, holding her stomach.

Shensé gently scowled. He wanted to mope and drop his head, but after what just happened...he tried a different reaction...which she noticed.

"Hm. Guess it is time to show you your cabin. Besides, can't be attracting sirens and such."

She walked over to him and broke the ropes with her hand...Shensé noted that.

He soon stood and rubbed his arms and shook his legs. They had fallen asleep.

"Follow along, noodle legs." she giggled.

Shensé only grimaced and slowly followed. He felt a sudden exhaustion as he climbed to the bottom of the deck. Ganadella was waiting by a door grinning ear to ear again.

"Come along, sloppy joe. Your bed awaits."

His tired eyes turned to slits as the light from his room glared back at him. Ganadella firmly pushed him inside and leaned against the frame of the door smiling.

"A beauty, isn't she?"

Shensé had stumbled against the red bed with golden accents within the middle of the fairly large room. Red orange walls swirled about like an artist's dream creation. The red velvet carpet shimmered under his shoes. Two vintage wall candles rested on opposite sides on the bed as other simple candles were placed on the cherry wood night stand, wardrobe and vanity. A room for a prince.

"This...this is mine?" he asked with a tired voice.

"Too womanly for you?"

"Non...very classic..."

Ganadella snickered.

"I'll have a pot pie sent in through that tiny door."

She pointed to a small square door beside his window.

"The bell will ring when it has arrived."

Shensé stroked the covers of the bed, resembling a curious child. His kind face turned to Ganadella gently smiling.

"...thank you, Ganadella..."

She shrugged and tilted her head.

"It's nothing. Just make sure to appreciate everything here...and sleep well."

With those last words, she had closed the door behind her slightly blushing. Such a sincere face. If only he had not looked at her that way.

Back and Revved Up For More Babeh!! But first....

That's right people!!! I have been SO busy with the birthday party, family meetings, work--you know. Things are going to continue to be super busy. Anyway, got to make this quick! So enjoy!

Chapter 6: The Ghost Returns!

Ganadella was in such high spirits. She was going through all the rooms for her belongings.--wait--her belongings? She had not been there, but for a day, Shensé thought.

"Ganadella, we have not decently discussed the matter yet for you to be speaking of what belongs to you here!"

She turned around and raised her brow. Shensé almost bumped into her.

"I beg your pardon?"

"Look, Ganadella, I understand that you are a G.B.W. but...my things--as well as Barber Thomas--are not yours, I'm afraid."

Ganadella frowned as she sat a random box down beside herself.

"Young man, am I
 not a barber?"

"Yes, you are, but--"

"Are we not going across the seas for several days...weeks, months even, to attend to a customers needs?!"

"Yes--no! I am not going!"

She gasped at that, then made a sudden angry grunt while squinting her eyes.

"Oh, the
 hell you are not!"

"Madame??"

She covered her mouth, flustered and angry.

"Blast it, boy! You have made me curse! Whether you like it or not--your bum is going on the ship!"

"Surely, you cannot think of forcing a grown male on your ship, eh?" he smirked, crossing his arms.

She dropped her hand from her mouth and raised her eyebrows.

"Think I cannot drag you along? Men are fools to look at me and not think twice."

"Ha! But I am not a fool! That is just a word! I am strong, confident and
 very sure of myself!"

"...heh..."

Shensé sat tied to the main sail pole on deck, watching Ganadella tug the boxes and things along on to the ship. How humiliating to have been taken advantage of. If only she had not kicked him there.

When finally done loading, she stood in front of him placing her hands on her hips.

"You will soon learn that women have ways of getting what they want."

"That was very low, Ganadella!" he croaked.

"Oh, quiet you!"

Soon, several male villagers came along to drop off food reserves for the trip, as well as pelts and heavy coats. Every once in a while, a gentleman would spot Shensé tied to the deck and give an odd stare. Ganadella would just hurry them along.

Then, with a release of the rope and firm push. the ship was off...

Shensé squirmed and fought to get free from this form of torture. He hated being in boats --period. Even if not on sea. And to add, he hated the sea. Ganadella surely had to be somewhere watching and laughing at the lads severe distress.

"Nooo! This CANNOT be happening!!"

"Get over it, lad. We've already passed the lighthouse."

"What?!" his voice echoed across the ship. As if paralyzed, Shensé sat still with a horrified face for five minutes straight. By then, Ganadella had climbed her way down from the quarter deck and walked over to look at him.

"...lad?"

"Go away."

She giggled.

"Oh, come, now! This is nonsense!"

"I said go away! Because of you, I'll never see Maman et Papa again!"

"Will you stop being so negative?!"

"Laisser!"

Ganadella jumped before angrily bitting her lip and trudging away into the captain's quarters. Shensé had released a shaky sigh and lowered his head.

Hours went by and the full moon rested itself upon Shensé's moist face. Everything out there seemed to blend away into the darkness...except the moon...leading what is lost to a final resting place, he thought. Before trying a way to doze off, a voice faded in around him. Shensé tensed making the rope seem even tighter.

"A sad day that I am placed within a coward..."

Shensé tossed about, mentally moaning at the idea of being alone with...a ghost, again! He recognized the voice instantly from a day before...deep and powerful.

"Please, leave me be! I don't think I could possibly spare another piece of my sanity!"

"Oh, but I must concur...with me...you will do much more than keeping a clear mind..."

Something rumbled and twisted under his feet...he could see it. It was like his shadow was morphing before him, trying to break loose. Soon, it lifted from the ground and formed a figure standing in front of him, head dropped with arms dangling at it's sides/ Shensé pressed himself harder and harder against the pole, the more detailed and closer the figure became.

"T-this is i-insanity!" he whispered.

The figure began to look more and more like....a person. The figure gently shook what looked to be it's hair. Something that caused Shensé to further jump was the quick "boink" that came from a huge, long, curled mustached that appeared aong the figures face.

"A...mustache..."

"You are correct."

Before his eyes, a tan man stood with dark hair and violet eyes. His clothes were colorful and unpredictable. Shensé could not make out too much due to the darkness. However, Shensé could not stop staring at his mustache. So perfectly curled, long...even better than papa's.

Could this be the ghost of an old hero?
 he thought.

I'm Baaaack! With Chapter 5!

Heeeeey folks! How was everyone's Halloween? Frightful? Fruitful? Dentist potential? Aha, okay I'm done.

Sorry it took me a moment to post! I had no internet for a moment and was extremely busy! Also, I have been thinking about making another blog for another one of my stories that I would think you'd enjoy...not sure quite yet. Moving on!

Here it is! Chapter %! <---I meant to do that :)

Chapter 5: To the Seas!

Shensé wiped the tears from his eyes, while stumbling to his feet. What a sickening feeling within Shensé. A mixture of emotions topped with a syrupy sense of exhaustion. If that was not cause enough for the sickness, then it was that word “worthless” that entrapped itself around his brain. Worthless. Who could form such a horrific word? What circumstances occurred to cause its’ definition to be simplified into one saying?

“Worthless…” he said in the mirror. The very mouth formation had his stomach churning and twisting to the point he was serving the sink another helping. His head hung low over the sink, his body becoming a noodle.

“…lad! Open the door! You sound like death.”

Shensé collapsed on the floor, back up against the toilet bowl.

“Get away from me you…you crazy witch!”

“Stop being a--”

“A boy?! Well…well, forgive me for not being able to wear a dress and act all giddy for you!”

“Shensé, listen to me--”

“I’m sorry. Shensé died due to a nagging hag’s voice--”

“Shensé!”

“—If you are planning to attend his funeral, please leave your guilt at the front door. That shouldn’t be too hard for most of you…”

“You are being a fool!”

“Oh, goodness! I didn’t realize I took on your duty!”

Ganadella rested her forehead on the door with an angry huff.

“Open this door…”

A sound of movement was not heard.

“Shensé…” she repeated, more urgent. “Stop playing around! Open this door!”

“I can’t…I can’t pretend to be…worth--”

He vomited again, but on his apron…floor…his eyes became heavy.

“Stop whining! And do not repeat that word!”

He laughed abruptly at the seriousness in her voice. How could she tell him to cease what she started? He concluded that it must be something stuck-up people do.

“Why? You called me and everything this shop stands for worthless.”

“I did not! I was recalling the scissors, anyway.”

“Those scissors represent what this shop stands for!”

She rubbed her face in agitation then jiggled the knob.

“I am serious, Shensé! You must let me in! You…you are in bad condition, boy!”

Shensé delayed his answer.

“Apparently, you must want something from me…”

“How many times have I warned about what dwells in you?”

Shensé remembered exactly what she said…about how she only cared of what dwelled within him. He dropped his head to the left, glancing at his left hand. It was still purple…it even numbed a little. A sudden panic erupted then…

“…Ganadella?”

“Yes, Shensé…”

“…What dwells in me? What is wrong with me?”

Her tone was more nervous as she spoke…with a hint of care.

“That is what I am trying to figure out, but you are not strong enough.”

“…How do you mean?”

A shaky sigh was her answer.

“I’m not weak! Just tell me…is this thing in me, good or bad?”

“First of all he is not an it—look, if you wish to know more, then let me in.”

Shensé noticed how she suddenly referred to “it” as a “he”…too tired to argue or pry he stared at the door before carefully removing his apron, keeping the “leftovers” wrapped within it. Getting up, he swayed side to side as he avoided the piled and opened the door. Ganadella looked surprised, with her hands dropping to her sides. Then she gawked at the vomit on the floor…the smell did it’s’ part in making her plug her nose shut.

“You are taking a bath before we talk about anything, you big--”

Shensé’s heavy eyes managed to meet hers…oddly her cheek began to sting from this contact.

“Just go to the other one. You smell!”

The sun had just began to peak over the far mountains. A slither of light rested softly on the front desk. Shensé had his shirt rested on the hearth of the fireplace, blazing with fire. They were in another part of the shop Ganadella happened to stumble upon. However, Shensé held nothing against her, as for the suspicion. In fact, he was very content as he gazed into the warm fire. He was in his briefs, leaning against his palms. Hair still wet, he shook it and smiled widely…almost chuckling at the scent: clean linen…like ma’man’s laundry after a long day of working…

“My word, you are pale…” Ganadella boldly pointed out.

Shensé jumped ay her presence, blushing like a tomato. She gave her famous side-smirk and threw a pair of black pants at him.

“Here.”

“They dried already?” he asked.

“Yes…they did.”

Shensé eyed the pair suspiciously. They did not look like his pants. In fact, they had no hint of linen.

“They don’t smell clean…did you not wash them?”

“Yes…I did.”

“With what?”

Ganadella turned to look at him, still acting busy.

“It is called money.”

“Ganadella! They had my pocket--”

“Ah ha! Found it!”

Ganadella tossed him the green pocket book.

“I did not forget your precious.” She winked.

Shensé only held it close and tightened his lip.

“…It seems that you are right as rain…”

Shensé slowly nodded, stroking the pocket book with his thumbs. He glanced up at her as she pulled up a chair and sat in front of him. He hands clasped together in her lap as she sucked in her bottom lip.

“So…are you going to tell me what is going on with me?”

“Of course…but before I start, you must never say that word again…unless you do not mean it.”
Shensé frowned from the confusion he was feeling. Such a strange woman. It was not long ago that this very woman had made a delicate entrance as well as dropped the news about being the G.B.W.

“Mean it?”

“Yes. You see…the word does not have power unless believed…”

“…heh…I suppose you should take partial blame for that, Ganadella.”

“One would think—however—it is up to you as to whether you are truly…worthless.”
Shensé lightly flinched, hiding his embarrassment as best he could.

“Now…for the person…inside you…”

She leaned forward and pressed her hand on his chest, looking deep into his eyes.

“A strong force to be reckoned with when awakened.”

“Force?”

“Correct…but with more dimensions.”

“Dimensions?”

“Yes, boy! Must you repeat everything I say?”

“Sorry…just nervous.”

“You should be! With a strength like Cassius’, you wither away almost completely…that is why I grow concerned--”

“Stop…being so…vague, and just tell me what is inside of me!”

Before she could answer, a bell rang at the front door. A customer! How long it was without business and now someone has finally come. Shensé even figured that it was his opportunity to see what Ganadella was made of. SO, with a quick glance to the door, she stood and went to the front to see a heavily dressed man holding a letter within his brown mitts.

“Good mornin’ to ya’ ma’am! A letter for the barber of this ‘ere shop.” he said.

“Oh, then let me have it, please.”

He handed her the letter looking hard at her face.

“My, you ‘aven’t aged a bit! Gwenevyre Rosindry!”

“Oh, ho, ho, ho! No, dear! That was my great grandmother. I am Ganadella Rosindry.” She flustered out.

“Oh? What a likeness, you two, eh?” he winked as she nervously laughed, and peeled the letter. It was short and to the point:

Barber of the Western Shore,

I, sailor Thom Locke, am in great need of your assistance. I hear of your great talents & magic with the Scissors of Gold. Come to the southern bay beyond the Ancient Black Seas to find me & my ship Mockingbird. I will reimburse you greatly for you success.
Thom Locke

With that, Ganadella paid the mailman five silver coins and rushed to Shensé who was putting on a loose beige top. Her face was alit with a smile as she clapped her hands together.

“What is it?” he asked, half annoyed.

“A letter from a sailor…in need of you talents! And he is willing to pay boy!”

“But…when is he coming exactly?”

“No, he is calling us! We will come to him!”

She turned to leave out the room as Shensé chased after her, face full of panic.

“But I have no boat! And I hate the sea!”

“Oh, hush you! Will not find much here if you wait. It is time you braved up about things like this. Besides, who said I did not have a ship?”

“You…do?” he gulped.

“Oh, yes! And to the seas—even beyond! Like the good old--” she paused. Shensé paid no attention, for he was rubbing his face profusely. Either way, she was pleased to know the adventure had begun so soon…so right.

Allo Allo!! Vent Session!!

Okay...

So, I'm SO excited with things right now! I'm super busy and couldn't ask for anything more~

For those who don't already know, I am currently involved with another film called Cerulean ( which is awesomely written and casted! Like, I really have to give props to the other actors apart of this film and the director for sharing his genius with us haha.) Btw, if you would like to support us, the blog is ceruleanmovie.blogspot.com :))

On a side note, I really don't like salmon as much as I thought I did. Too many secret bones and the "distinct" smell it leaves when clashing with the outside air makes my stomach churn....just had to share.

Okay--this thursday, I am going to a Opening Night for The Landmark--well, more like the reopening--with the mom, sis and aunt.  Afterward, we're going to look at some dresses for my Grammies (Granny) secret birthday party. It's gonna be a Hollywood theme...hee hee....Grammies? Hollywood? Haha, not funny, I know.

SO, as for these dresses and why it is so exciting to me: Well, the whole fam is going to perform The Good Foot (a dance that is not only cool but challenging. I recommend for exercise haha) and we decided that the women should wear the same dress while guys same suit and colors. So yeah. I'm estatic because my aunt thinks she might have found the one (I hope).

Then to top it off, I don't have work Friday (YUSH) because I will be baking my delicious Almond cookies for my good friend's Zombie Party! Just to let you know, I've always wanted to be something..."beyond" myself....lol! Zombie totally hits it!

Other than that, I really can't wait to see my friends again. I miss them. Especially with the very high possibility of me leaving the Fort for good next fall. Breaks my heart...in a way....

Chapter 4: “Nothing of Barber Thomas is Worthless!”

Shensé screamed and went to run out the door, although he managed to forget to open it. So with that, his face ran smack dab into the door, where he collapsed backwards and held his nose.

"Ahhh! My nose!" he moaned.

A menacing laughter filled the small space around him. It echoed back and forth, diagonal then flat. Becoming stiff, however still holding his nose, his wide, crystal blue eyes followed the laughter. After a moment of silence, he heard the voice again:
"You do feel me...be aware of my existence, young barber."

"Bloody hell, boy! What is happening here?"

Ganadella had slammed the door open, eyes full of urgency and irritation. Shensé cried in pain...his foot was right in the path of the door. It did not faze her however.

"Answer me!"

"But wouldn't you like to know if my foot is still attached to my ankle??" He growled sarcastically.

"Serves you right!" she snapped. "Yelling and what not! You have yet to answer my question--"

"
PERHAPS, I don't know!"

"But look at you!" she pointed with one hand, as she rested the other on her hip. Shensé carefully sat up to a sitting position.

"You are on the ground!"

"Yes, yes I am. But speaking hypothetically--"

"I do not want a 'what if' --"

"--could it be that the pain and utter shock of the events may have caused a temporary amnesia?"

With a momentary scowl, she spat an irritated grunt and tossed her hand to Shensé, leaving him sitting as she turned around with a "Worthless!"

Mentally delayed, Shensé helped himself up dusting his pants and apron. With a sigh he rested his hands upon the frame of the door. It began to seem that maybe things he did were worthless. It was true that he had no mustache. If anything, he might be possessed by some angry spirit within the shop. He quietly gasped and made a quarter turn backwards.

"...this shop
 is old..." he thought.

"And look! The boy is standing...
with
 both feet attached!"

Shense glared and lightly limped out of the small room. Her arms were crossed...mouth a line. He limped to the front desk as she eyed him disapprovingly.

"...why are you so mean?"

Hushed laughter left her lips as she finally uncrossed her arms and walked toward the barber station. With a soft tone she answered.

"...I only give you what you let me...” but sharp did she return, "...
boy!"

No response.

"Did you not hear what I said?"

Shensé sighed and continued to write something at the desk...not even glancing at her.

"Oh, how mature of you. Ignoring me, arrre yeh?"

Shensé snapped his head to her and stared hard. Suspicion written in his squinted eyes.

"...say that...again, please."

"Psh. You have got another thing coming if you think I am going to listen to an easy like you."

"You...rolled your...'r'. And then you said 'yeh' instead of--"

"A little gabit, you are!"

His mouth slightly opened as he made a face.

"...H'what?"

"Nothing an idiot would know...accept the name--so forget it!"

"Gabit?"

"End it! Thought you were ignoring me and all."

Shensé paused before releasing a frustrated growl and tossing the pen to the side, angrily. Ganadella only giggled mockingly, holding a pair of tiny golden scissors. They belonged to the barber who used to own the shop before Shensé. It was rumored that his magic remained within those very scissors.

"Rusty things!" she muttered before tossing them into the trash. She walked away before hearing an immediate fumbling behind her.

"What the..."

She turned around slowly to see the slow swivel of the trash bin. With a shrug she turned back around to face the ever red-faced Shensé. He had the scissors pinched between his fingers.

"Hn. The fastest I have seen you move--"

"These are delicate mementos, Ganadella."

"Ah, you finally called me by my name...boy."

He pulsed, squeezing his free hand into a fist.

"You can't just--"

"I just
 did, did I not?"

"You didn't even--"

"I already knew what you were going to say. And to add..." she moved past him,” those things are worthless."

He echoed her, "Worthless?"

"You heard me, boy! Worthless just like you!"

Before he could stop himself or even think about it...he swung her around and slapped her across the face. A shocked, small cry left her, hair covered face. Her hand went to touch her jaw.

"I am sure you are familiar with this word 'worthless', Ganadella..." a tremble lay under his tone.

"
Nothing
of Barber Thomas is worthless! Do you understand??"

Shensé, furious, briskly returned the scissors to their 'sacred' drawer.

"...heh...you hit like a little girl."

With a toss, her hair fell from behind her ears. She seemed to change then...her eyes a tad more fierce.

"So...you can be angered...there is hope for you."

"I can be hurt...."

"I do not care about that!” she yelled, "I care about what dwells within you! So ignorant you are...naive!"

Shensé stared blankly at Ganadella with glossed eyes. The bangs of her hair covered her left eye and face, but her gaze was piercing.

"I didn't ask for this..."

With those last words, he turned into the restroom and locked the door. As soon as he was out of sight, Ganadella ran to the mirror at the barber station and slowly moved the bang behind her ear. Her cheek was an irritated red. The small vesicles were visibly purple and cracked around her cheek. She winced at the burning pain as her fingered lightly brushed against it.

"...eh...what a brute..." She paused and watched the veins spread further down her neck.

“Ah...Cassius is alive in you, Shensé."

Shensé splashed himself several times with water in the sink. Enraged and anxious, he had difficulty cooling off...literally.

"What...what is this?"

Shensé's hands trembled as they illuminated a purple hue. His stomach went sour, face green as his pocket book. With a heavy slump, he released his breakfast, lunch and anxiety into the sink. Ganadella turned in the direction of the restroom and shook her head at the sound. A cough...a moan...or was that weeping? Ganadella stared further, massaging her cheek, now.

"...poor, lad. Maybe I am pushing him to hard..."

She sat in thought, fiddling with her hair. Her face was full of concentration, brow furrowed.

"...but Cassius must be released. He must..."

Third Chapter Peeps!

I hope you're enjoying things so far :) I have to say this is one of my favorite chapters being that things are getting   a tad intense and Shense's response to them is humoring if not partly...creepeh. Speaking of, I will be posting some sketches very soon of the characters which so far look AMAZING! Thought I would give a better visual than the lil' chibi's...although they are adorable....Annnyyyyway, I'll shut up now and let ya; read!

Comment!!

Chapter 3:”Boy”

Shensé croaked while taking a step back in shock.

“You’re The Greatest Barber? In the World??”

“Yes, yes! I said it, did I not?”

That sly smirk slit her face as she tilted her head in a teasing manner.

“Are you…surprised?”

Shensé’s eyes gave him away, but he hesitated before answering. He fiddled with his fingers and twisted his leg. With a hard swallow he continued…

“..well… suppose I didn’t expect to meet the G.B.W. like this…”

“Oh, pish-posh! You are shocked that I am a woman! Admit it!”

“Yes—I mean, no! Argh, forgive me! It is just…”

He held out his arms, mouth gaped open to speak. Then he shook his head, dropping his arms to his sides, then placing them on his hips.

“I am a woman! Stop trying to be so nice all the time—I am not fragile, boy!”

Something corrupted inside of Shensé for that quick moment. It felt like a fuzzy pain. What it was, he could not grasp, however he knew why it had arrived.

“My name isn’t ‘boy’, it's Shensé.”

“So? You are a boy, right? Right.”

She had her back to him now. Shensé lowered his eyes and said nothing for the moment. Things needed to be attended to and cleaned. No time for worrying over a name, he thought.

Evening hovered over them as Shensé began to close shop and Ganadella no where to be found. It did not bother him much. She was out of the way while he did things his way for the night. How disappointing to find that The Greatest Barber in the World…was not so great. In fact, secretly he thought to be more qualified than she—although he had never seen her work. Oh well… he thought…oh, well.

“Boy!”

Her voice cut him out of the lovely dreams. Shensé had fallen asleep standing up against the wall with the broom crossed in his arms.

“Asleep on the job?”

Shensé tossed his head to the clock to see the time. Apparently, it was still late…or extra early.

“Don’t look at the clock!”

A slight sound of aggravation lined his voice.

“Why not?”

She stared and shook her head slowly.

“It should not matter what time it is, boy. Mustaches across the world are always in need of a good shave! Whether it be twilight or dead of night! We are always open!”

Shensé rested his cheek against the broom handle.

“…All right.” With a shrug he straightened up and stretched.

“All right?” She echoed, “Is that how you defend your stance?”

“Why do that? You explained to me why I should not--” he yawned. “Why I should not look at the clock and it makes perfect sense to me.”

Ganadella crossed her arms and squinted her eyes to slits.

“You are such a pushover.”

“Call it what you want. I do not wish any trouble or fuss here.”

He brushed past her taking the broom with him, slightly humming. Ganadella walked after him however…

“Then, as The Great Barber, I demand ownership of this here barber shop!”

He halted and turned his head to the side.

“You can’t do that, miss--”

“Ganadella!”

“Look, the shop was given to me. You have already “claimed” your stay here, so why not leave that bit alone, eh?”

“I can claim any part I want, boy!”

“There you go with that name calling again. I’m going to be forced to ignore you after awhile..”

“Ignore me?”

How she laughed at him as he turned around to watch her do so.

“Laugh if it pleases you. I care not.”

“And neither will the pirates that ravage homes and shave the beards from a strong man.”

A seriousness began to cover the laughter of her tone.

“Try and ignore my insults, surely there are worse to come.”

“What are talking about?”

“You know what I’m talking about.”

Shensé blinked then with a wave of his hand he smiled and shook his head.

“Stop trying to force me into degradation. It’s wrong.”

She slid across the floor and blocked his way. Capturing his face within her grasp, she eyed him longingly.

“I see it. You felt it. Something powerful lies within you, but that bloody boy stands in the way of it.”

Gently, he took her hand and closed it.

“I am sorry, but you are a tad lost.”

Again he made his way to the side door near the desk.

“I have seen things across the world that many have not yet grasped in their minds yet!”, she cried out.

“Awful things…I know the future. It looks grim and hopeless…bare.”

He stood before pivoting around and glaring at her.

“What does this have to do with me? Why are you telling me this?”

“…Shensé. Your father is falling very ill. And your mother old. You are the only child without a mustache.

He saddened and looked to the side.

“I don’t take very kindly to jokes like that.”

With that he snatched up the broom and stormed into the small office door, slamming it behind him vigorously.

Ganadella walked around, contemplating. Inside the office, Shensé shivered at the thought of something being wrong with his father…most of all, he hosting something within his body. The way Ganadella made him feel when she looked within his eyes…it was like she was pulling something out….

“Nonsense!” he muttered to himself. “Nothing dwells within me than my own soul.”

“Oh, is that so?” A voice echoed back.

Shensé kicked backwards and fell upon his back side, breathing heavily.

“Who goes there?” he commanded with a shaky voice. A deep laughter danced around the walls before silencing. Shensé frantically jumped to his feet and tossed his head to the east and west.

“Answer me!”

With that Shensé felt a tap on his shoulder. Grimacing and turning around he saw nothing….or so he thought. A sleeve? It’s strong transparency made it difficult to realize the figure standing before him. However, it did not take away from the powerful, deep voice that uttered a simple, “Boo.”

Chapter 2: The Greatest Barber in the World

Maman and Papa were so proud of their son, Shensé. He had taken the time to accessorize the place and make it his own--and what a shop it became. With the experience he had growing up watching Papa and the Barber he was well equipped to cut mustaches. But alas...how he desired to have one of his own. The summer blossoms had began to close for winter's icy chill also making business slow for Shensé. Many of his customers grew out their beards and mustaches to keep even warm. So, pacing the spacious shop he did. He did not know how many times he had counted the floor tiles or swept the same spot during the past hour of quiet and stillness. Then a crack of light poking the corner of his eye caught his attention...a room never touched.

"Hmph. Thought I got to every room..." he muttered entering in.

Shelves upon shelves of books aligned the walls as well as boxes filled with dusty framed tools and more books. Shensé's eyes glistened with excitement as he cautiously made his way in and over the boxes. A particularly vintage book spine caught his attention. It's faded green and gold detail somehow glistened under the light as Shensé picked it up and slowly blew on it.

“…The…Greatest Bar-ber…” he struggled to make out the words before noticing the poor picture of the earth under the title, “The Greatest Barber in the World! Gee, that’s pretty broad!”

Quickly he went to dissect the book for answers, but the small bell rang over the door as someone entered in. Half irritated at the timing, but part thrilled for a customer, Shensé tucked the book under his arm and closed the door behind him, assuring whoever entered that he was coming. Hastily, he placed the book within his traveling bag and briskly approached a stunning woman. She was just as fancy as Maman at her birthday dinners. He swallowed hard as her round cheeks formed a smile and rose hair tucked behind her pointed ears.

“Hello, sir. Are you by chance Shensé the local barber?”

Her voice was smooth as silk and accented so carefully…like a queen. Shensé nodded with an, “Uh huh”, as a response. “That I am. Might I ask who is concerned?”

She smirked and lightly bounced on her toes.

“I am.”

He tried to stop his smile and hide his blushing, but it was too apparent. She continued.

“My name is Ganadella Rosindry.” She held out her hand while Shensé shook it kindly. Her face scrunched up suddenly.

“Do you not know how to greet a lady?”

Shyly he nodded and placed his hands behind his back.

“Kissing a woman’s hand is disrespectful…for you I do not know and likewise. Looking a lady in her eyes is also rude…” he blushed and chuckled before finishing, “being that I don’t believe I want to marry at 15 years of age, mademoiselle.”

A sly smirk spread upon her lips as she crossed her arms.

“Well, aren’t you a peach. Let us see how mannerly you are when I’m finished with you, hm?”

“…pardon?”

She hung her cloak upon the hanger revealing a barbers apron and attire. He dropped his mouth as she practically took over, making up her station near the front desk.

“They did tell you I was coming, right?”

“…T-they? I am confused, Miss-“

“No! Ganadella…please…”

Shensé watched her move around as if busy. Had there been some confusion between them? Suddenly there was a shriek behind him, where he had found the empty room. Quickly, he sprinted to see Ganadella standing facing the shelf , holding her hand over her mouth.

“ What ails you?”

She shook her head sadly.

“It is gone..”

“What is?”

“My book! It was given to me by my great grandmother!”

He tapped his chin and felt an unsettling feeling. Reaching into his bag he pulled out the book and held it out to Ganadella.

“Do you mean this…book?”

With a pink face, she snatched it and scowled at Shensé.

“Thief! How dare you go through my things!”

“But…but I did not know—“

“Hasn’t anyone told you about The Greatest Barber in the World?? Hm??”

“Well, my Papa mentioned heroes of our time—"

“No, not heroes!” She sighed and bumped past him, caressing the book.

“I apologize for my ignorance…”

“No, no…I should not have been so mean. You are young and well…for future reference…leave that room be, please.”

Questions whirled in his head as she calmly placed the book on the desk and smiled.

“I feel you eyeing me…something wrong?”

“Well…um—not so much as wrong, but….who exactly are you?”

A long pause went by before she answered with a boisterous voice.

“I am Ganadella Rosindry! The Greatest Barber in the World!”

Welcome!

Salut, and welcome to my first actual blog!

Out of the many things to talk about or share with world, I thought it should be about one of my creations, The Majestic Mustache.
It happens to be a story I began writing for fun if not an inside joke about an avatar I made on Gaia (www.gaiaonline.com  for those who have never heard of it.) From there, it turned out to be a success with many of my friends, family, people who live in their parent's basement--yeah, you get the idea, haha. So, I thought, "Hey, would it not be neat to share this with more people?" I mean, what is there to lose? We all get a little shy about sharing our talents, but you have to start somewhere. Moving on, this story happens to be about a young boy who desires to be the best barber in the world like the local barber of their town. But with this comes the challenges of his greatest fears: the outside world. An adventure/comedy that I believe all ages would enjoy. Anyway, I intend on bringing more of my work on the site ('cause I gots a-LOT) if things go fairly well.

Thanks and enjoy!!

Chapter 1: The Story of The Mustache

Once upon a time, in a small delicate village lived a young, awkward lad with hair as red as a blood orange and eyes as clear as the Caribbean. His green suspenders buttoned over his white shirt. His small hands worked to put on the little white socks Papa had given him for his birthday.
Finally completing that adventure, he ventured his eyes to the shiny black shoes by the door in his room....oh dear, how he hated trying to put them on only to deal with the frustrations of tying the tiny string--for goodness sakes, he was only five!

"Maman!"

He summoned his mother from the kitchen. Wearing her apron, she came to the door, her beautiful features very similar to the boy.

"Petit Shensé, what is it dear?"

He whined while poking out his bottom lip, " ....the shooooeeesss!" and pointed in their direction. She only sighed and went to grab them.

"Petit Shensé, this fear of the--"

"Nuu, I no’ scared….just…”, he huffs angrily as his body does the same.

“I understand little one” she giggles a little. “Come along. I have just finished breakfast.”

After breakfast, Shensé followed along with his father to the heart of the village to watch Papa buy provisions and go to the local barber, for Papa’s mustache needed trimming and “tickle bugs” cut. Shensé called them that because they were dark and tickled his cheek when Papa kissed him goodnight. So, in they went. As usual, Shensé sat upon the stool facing the barber and Papa to watch. The barber patted Shensé on the head as he hung Papa’s coat on the coat hanger. Excitement glistened in his eyes as the white cloak draped around Papa’s neck. Then began the magic of the cut. How the barber managed to get every hair clean off and leave Papa’s mustache untouched amazed Shensé. Papa always told him stories of great heroes with grand mustaches—blonde, noir, brown—like Papa’s—and even red! But has there been yet an adventurer with a mustache as majestic, he said.

So with that said, Shensé fantasized of having a perfect mustache of his own. He even pretended to have one with Papa.
“I will grow one just as big as yours, Papa!”

But as the seasons went by and “Petit Shensé” was growing…his mustache was not. He began to believe that he did not have one. It was a sad day for Shensé and the aging Papa and Maman.

Summer dragged along, and it was Shensé’s 15th birthday. As a gift, Papa and Maman put together their earnings to buy the barber shop for Shensé to own. At first, he was saddened by the matter of not having a mustache to advertise, but Papa assured him that he would do just as good a service to provide grandeur grooming for mustaches all over the world.

With this…began a great adventure for Petit Shensé…..
